Samsung wrapped up one of its biggest event of the year–the Galaxy Unapacked event–on January 17. The event held at SAP Center, San Jose, California, witnessed the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series, which includes the Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S24 Plus and the Galaxy S24. The highlight of these phones this year is the fact that they are all powered by AI. The Samsung Galaxy S24 series comes with Google’s Gemini Pro and Imagen 2, which makes it the first smartphone to come with in-built AI tools.

Samsung is yet to announce the India price of the Galaxy S24 series. So for now let us have a look at everything Samsung announced its Unpacked event, which took place on January 17.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra , comes with a 6.8-inch high-quality QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display that refreshes from 1 to 120Hz. It includes a Vision booster to improve outdoor visibility with a peak brightness of 2,600 nits. The phone has a sleeker design compared to last year’s model, featuring a flatter display and slimmer bezels. This design change is also seen in the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus. All three models are equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, carrying Samsung’s special “for Galaxy” branding.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra stands out as the first Galaxy phone to introduce a titanium frame, reducing its overall weight. Apple previously introduced a titanium frame with the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max last fall.

The camera system on the S24 Ultra includes a 200MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, a 10MP 3x telephoto camera, and a new addition for this year – a 50MP telephoto camera with 5x zoom, replacing last year’s 10MP telephoto camera with 10x zoom. The optical zoom levels on the S24 Ultra range from 2x, 3x, and 5x to 10x magnification, thanks to the innovative Adaptive Pixel Sensor technology.

Storage options for the Galaxy S24 Ultra include 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB, each paired with 12GB of RAM. The phone is available in Titanium Gray, Titanium Black, Titanium Violet, and Titanium Yellow, with additional colors launching exclusively online. The hefty price tag is set at $1,300, marking a $100 increase from the Galaxy S23 Ultra of the previous year.

Galaxy S24 Plus

The Galaxy S24 Plus has undergone notable upgrades, now equipped with a QHD+ display reminiscent of the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The phone’s 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display offers a versatile 1-120Hz refresh rate, complemented by the inclusion of a Vision booster.

In terms of camera capabilities, the Galaxy S24 Plus mirrors the setup found on the Galaxy S24, featuring a 50MP wide camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. Additionally, the phone boasts a 12MP front camera for capturing selfies and facilitating video calls.

Storage options for the Galaxy S24 Plus are available in 256GB or 512GB variants, both coupled with 12GB of memory. Noteworthy is the enhanced battery capacity, increased by 200mAh compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy S23 Plus, now reaching a total of 4,900mAh.

Offered in the same color choices as the standard S24, the Galaxy S24 Plus is priced starting at $1,000.

Galaxy S24

The Samsung Galaxy S24 serves as a more compact and budget-friendly option compared to the S24 Ultra. It features a 6.2-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a flexible 1-120Hz refresh rate and is equipped with the new Vision Booster, a feature also found in the Galaxy S24 Ultra and Galaxy S24 Plus.

The smartphone’s camera setup includes a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, a 10MP telephoto camera, and a 12MP front camera. Storage options come in 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB variants, all paired with 8GB of memory. The device sports a refreshed design with a flat, matte frame, a departure from the rounded, glossy frame of the Galaxy S23. This design shift is shared with the S24 Plus. Additionally, the Galaxy S24 boasts a 100mAh larger battery, now holding a capacity of 4,000mAh.

Color choices for the Galaxy S24 include Onyx Black, Marble Gray, Cobalt Violet, and Amber Yellow, with additional colors available exclusively online. The starting price for the Galaxy S24 is set at $800.

Galaxy AI

Samsung surprised everyone at the end of the Unpacked event by showing a glimpse of something called the “Galaxy Ring.”

There have been rumors about Samsung making a smart ring for a few months, and it seemed like it might be released in 2024. But we didn’t know exactly when in 2024. Even though Samsung didn’t actually launch the Galaxy Ring on this day, they did officially say that it exists for the first time

Samsung didn’t share a lot of details about the Galaxy Ring. They only said that it’s a health-tracking device nd will use AI for some parts of its features. From the little sneak peek, it seems quite similar to the Oura Ring.

We still don’t know how much it will cost, when it will be available, or all the things it can do. But it’s likely that we will get more information about it later this year.
