Wagle Ki Duniya’s Aanjjan Srivastav and Amitabh Bachchan shared a strong bond back in the 90s. Their professional and personal bond began in Shahenshah days when Aanjjan introduced his Banker side to Amitabh Bachchan and got him to start his bank account in the bank he was working at. Aanjjan was there with Big B in his hardest time, however things turned sour after Kaun Banega Crorepati. Here’s what Aanjjan shared:
Amitji was in a terrible state, in those days there was a huge revolution happening against him. I went to Filmistan on the sets of Toofan to find out how he is. During those days, in Kolkata, there was a huge protest happening against Amit Ji. Posters were being torn and here Amit ji was also extremely sad. I went there and asked him, ‘Bhaisahab kaise hai?’ (Brother, how are you?) and he said “Theek hun” (I am fine) and that’s all.
No one was there to check on him. We know that the litterateurs of Allahabad had started criticising him. His father’s friends had started speaking ill about him without knowing anything. He was in a doldrum, very bad condition. He then met with an accident, I was regularly there for him. For me, Amitji was a good man.
Amitabh Bachchan had gone bankrupt
Amitabh Bachchan had gone bankrupt, his company ABCL had massive losses that he couldn’t incur. However, he bounced back with Kaun Banega Crorepati. What astonished me the most was that he had cut off from all his old friends. He was a changed man after joining KBC.
