As an aftermath of severe weather conditions in the districts of Barabanki and Lakhimpur Kheri, all schools across Uttar Pradesh (UP) stand closed today, September 12, 2023.
The order, entailing the suspension of teaching work from pre-primary to class 12, spans across all government, non-government aided, and private schools in UP.
This announcement was made on the heels of a warning by the India Meteorological Department about the prospects of heavy rain in the region.
BAD WEATHER LEADS TO UTTAR PRADESH SCHOOL SHUTDOWN
The closure was announced via a tweet by the news agency, ANI, stating, “Uttar Pradesh | All schools from pre-primary to class 12 to remain closed today, 12th September in the wake of inclement weather conditions in Barabanki and Lakhimpur Kheri districts and a weather warning by IMD.”
The order also made provisions for its verification, asserting that parents, students, and school management could confirm its authenticity by checking the district website www.barabanki.nic.in.
Students, parents, and teachers were also advised to take note of the day’s school closure and reach out to their respective school departments in case of any confusion.
SCHOOLS CLOSED YESTERDAY AS WELL
It’s noteworthy to mention that schools catering to Classes 1 to 12 were also closed yesterday, September 11, 2023, due to heavy rains in Lucknow.
GURU DRONACHARYA MELA CAUSE ANOTHER SCHOOL CLOSURE
Additionally, as per the orders of the Gautam Buddh Nagar officials and the District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) Dharmve, all schools and colleges will remain closed today, September 12, 2023, on account of Guru Dronacharya Mela.
