‘Angvastram’ given to G20 leaders was made in factory inspired by Mann Ki Baat

On the second day of the G20 Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed the dignitaries at Rajghat with an ‘angvastram’ or stole. The Khadi cloth was produced at a factory in Uttar Pradesh’s Jalesar area and has a connection with PM Modi’s monthly ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program.

The Khadi stole which was presented to the leaders was manufactured in ‘Jyoti Green’, whose founder, Ankit Sisodia, decided to pursue this line of business after being inspired by listening to PM Modi’s monthly program. Sisodia told India Today that after he completed his MBA, he worked for a multinational company for a year, but later decided to start his own business.

After being influenced by PM Modi’s words on the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program, he started Khadi production five years ago using modern methods instead of the traditional methods. In order to achieve this, he started ‘Jyoti Green’ in his city, Jalesar, which is India’s first and only solar Khadi unit.

The cloth prepared there is supplied to ‘Khadi India’. Now, the town of Jalesar will be known for producing the famous ‘angvastram’ worn by G20 leaders.

Agra Tourist Welfare Chamber Secretary Vishal Sharma said Jalesar town is famous all over the world for manufacturing ‘ghunghrus’, bells, etc and now it will have a link to the production of Khadi clothes as well.

PM Modi had presented the ‘angvastram’ to the world leaders on their arrival at Delhi’s Rajghat where they paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi. The two-day long G20 Summit was held in Delhi on September 9 and 10.
