Japan’s Nikkei share average experienced a significant decline on Monday, slipping below the crucial 40,000 mark as investors opted to sell stocks to realize profits on the initial day of the country’s financial year. The Nikkei dropped 1.5% to 39,765.22 during the midday break, following an initial 0.7% increase. The broader Topix also saw a decline of 1.88%, reaching 2,716.47.
