West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of violating constitutional norms after TMC MP Mahua Moitra was expelled from Lok Sabha in the ‘cash-for-query’ case.

According to Banerjee, the BJP didn’t provide sufficient time for a debate on the ethics panel report recommending Moitra’s expulsion. Expressing full support for Moitra, Mamata claimed that her party and the INDIA alliance would fight together against the BJP’s ‘vindictive politics’. The West Bengal Chief Minister also praised the unity in the INDIA alliance, emphasizing that Moitra represents the women and young generation of different communities and creeds.
