Bank Holidays October 2023 full list: In the upcoming festival-filled month of October, banks will be closed on as many as 18 days, including the second and fourth Saturdays along with Sundays. If you have any financial transactions to undertake during this month, it is crucial to be aware of the bank holidays for October 2023 which are applicable in your state.
October 2023 will witness bank holidays on the following days and occasions:

  • Gandhi Jayanti on October 2 (Monday), a national holiday so all banks will be closed.
  • Mahalaya on October 14 (Saturday), leading to bank holiday in Kolkata.
  • Kati Bihu on October 18 (Wednesday), prompting banks in Assam to remain shut.
  • Durga Puja (Maha Saptami) on October 21 (Saturday), resulting in bank holidays in Tripura, Assam, Manipur, and Bengal.
  • October 23 (Monday) will mark the closure of banks due to Dusshera (Mahanavami)/Ayudha Pooja/Durga Puja/Vijaya Dasami in various states, including Tripura, Karnataka, Orissa, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Kanpur, Kerala, Jharkhand, and Bihar.
  • On October 24 (Tuesday), Dussehra/Dusshera (Vijaya Dashmi)/Durga Puja will lead to bank holidays in all states except Andhra Pradesh and Manipur.
  • October 25 (Wednesday) will see banks closed for Durga Puja (Dasain) in Sikkim, and
  • On October 26 (Thursday) bank holiday for Durga Puja (Dasain)/Accession Day in Sikkim and Jammu and Kashmir.
  • October 27 (Friday) will see a bank holiday for Durga Puja (Dasain) in Sikkim, and October 28 (Saturday) for Lakshmi Puja in Bengal.
  • Finally, on October 31 (Tuesday), banks in Gujarat will remain closed in honor of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s Birthday.
