Lupin to buy 5 drug brands from Menarini – Times of India

MUMBAI: Lupin has signed an agreement to acquire five legacy brands in gastroenterology, urology and anti-infectives from Menarini, along with the associated trademark rights. According to a BSE filing, the deal is around Rs 100 crore. Further details on the size of the deal were not disclosed.
The brands are Piclin, Menoctyl, Sucramal O, Pyridium and Distaclor, a statement said. Their turnover for FY23 stood at about Rs 32 crore.
Lupin has been exclusively marketing these brands in the domestic market since July 2021 under a distribution and promotion agreement with A Menarini India. Lupin MD Nilesh Gupta said, “This acquisition aligns well with our strategic goal to broaden our presence in the Indian market.” Menarini group is an international pharmaceutical and diagnostics company with presence in over 140 countries.
