BENGALURU: Gaming platform Gameskraft will from Monday discontinue its Gamezy Fantasy – which allowed cricket enthusiasts to pick virtual teams, participate in virtual tournaments and win prizes.
The platform has been in the public eye for a Rs 21,000-crore GST demand from tax authorities.
The company said prevailing industry trends and internal insights have underscored the need for deep category-specific experiences to provide a wholesome and immersive gameplay to its players.
“Given the vision with regards to our portfolio, we have made a strategic decision to reassess and temporarily deprioritise our Gamezy super app.
We are focusing our efforts on the development and promotion of dedicated single apps, like our newly-launched RummyPrime, LudoCulture and other initiatives.
This focus allows us to concentrate on our core competencies and channel greater resources towards delivering unparalleled user experiences,” a company spokesperson said.
The company said this reassessment of strategic prioritisation will not have any negative impact on its workforce planning and talent deployment. “These changes are not related to the recent amendments made to GST laws,” the spokesperson said.
