The iPhone 15 has been launched in India and this time around, consumers don’t have to wait for a longer period to buy the new iPhones as Apple will open the pre-order window on September 15. The sale will also take place next week. While the new iPhone 15 brings several upgrade, the price is also a bit high for many. Does that mean consumers should consider buying the iPhone 13 because it is the same as the iPhone 14 and the price is also the lowest? Let’s dive a little deeper and find out.

iPhone 13 or iPhone 15: India price compared

The iPhone 15 comes with a starting price of Rs 69,900 for the base 128GB storage model, which is the same as last year’s model. The first sale will take place on September 22.

The iPhone 13 is listed on Flipkart and Amazon with a price tag of Rs 55,999 for the 128GB storage model. This is the lowest price yet on this iPhone. Apple has also slashed the price of the iPhone 13 in India, bringing it down to Rs 59,900. This revised price represents a significant reduction from its original cost of Rs 79,900, following a previous price cut last year when it was set at Rs 69,900. Those who want to save money can consider buying this 5G phone via the above-mentioned e-commerce platforms.

iPhone 13 or iPhone 15: Specs compared in detail

The iPhone 15 features a 48-megapixel dual rear camera setup, a 6.1-inch OLED display, and Apple’s A16 chipset. The iPhone 13 has a 6.1-inch OLED screen, an A15 chipset, and a 12-megapixel dual rear camera setup. Both iPhones pack a set of stereo speakers, Face ID, and more. But, Apple doesn’t bundle a charger in the retail box.

iPhone 13 or iPhone 15: Which one to buy?

The decision actually comes down to the user because the question here is not about which one is better. Both iPhones are good at their price points. The iPhone 15 is, of course, better than the iPhone 13 in many ways. It comes with a new 48-megapixel camera system with support for 4K Cinematic mode, a faster chipset, a new punch-hole display design, and a USB-C port.

Now, the advantage of having a USB-C port is that you don’t have to carry a separate charging cable as well as the adapter for the iPhone 15. One can simply use any Type-C charger that you have at your home and while traveling with family.

The new model also has a slightly brighter display, and Apple is promising that users will get less than a day’s battery life. While we are yet to test this claim, the previous iPhone 14 models did offer a similar experience to us. iPhone 13 doesn’t last for a day and one will likely have to charge the phone once or twice depending on the usage.
Also, people who missed using Apple’s new Dynamic Island feature will now be able to access it on the iPhone 15 model. The new design enables the ability to change the punch-hole’s shape and size virtually to suit various applications seamlessly. In case you are wondering, both phones have support for wireless charging and an IP68 rating.

With new upgrades, the price is also higher. Though, Apple hasn’t increased the price of a new model and offered it at the price of iPhone 14. Also, all these things don’t mean the iPhone 13 is bad. It is a good 5G phone in its price point. It is by no means slow and will continue to receive software updates for a few more years. People will get a smooth performance and good enough photos for Instagram when clicked in daylight.

If your budget is around Rs 50,000, then you can consider buying the iPhone 13. With exchange offers and bank offers, the price will drop significantly. I would recommend you buy iPhone 13 during Diwali because the price then might be even lower. But, people who can afford to spend around Rs 80,000 should buy the new iPhone 15 smartphone. If your current smartphone is working fine and you can wait for a few more months, then you might be able to buy the iPhone 15 at a slightly lower price because offline or online stores will likely announce some attractive bank and exchange offers to attract customers.
