AR Rahman and ACTC Events, the event management company of ‘Marakuma Nenjam’ concert, were slammed for poor mismanagement at the venue. Their poor organising skills led to women getting molested, children being displaced and causing a stampede. Rahman apologised and promised to fix it. Now, his daughters, Raheema and Khatija, have taken to social media to defend their father.

AR Rahman’s Chennai concert was slammed for mismanagement. Many took to social media to explain their ordeal. The composer promised to compensate those who couldn’t enter the venue despite having valid tickets.

After issuing a statement regarding the mishap, Rahman’s daughters Raheema and Khatija took to social media to share a infographic about the composer. The infographic is a direct message to those who complained that Rahman pulled a scam through the concert. It also has details of his previous concerts and how the proceeds from them were donated to social causes.

Here are their posts:

AR Rahman performed live on the grounds of Adityaram Palace on September 10 in Chennai. Over 45,000 people attended the concert. However, many people with tickets were denied entry due to overcrowding. Also, women, children and the elderly suffered at the event and complained about safety.

Following this, Tambaram Police have begun an enquiry with ACTC Events regarding overcrowding and chaotic traffic. Rahman and the event management company have promised to make up for the trouble caused.
