BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla on Monday attacked Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra over her “inke G20” remark that she made while referring to the recent 2-day mega summit held in Delhi.
While speaking at a rally in Rajasthan, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said, “This morning I saw that their G20 venue was flooded.” The Congress leader referred to the G20 Summit as “inke G20” or their (BJP’s) G20.
She further said that after the venue was flooded, she thought that this was an act of God to tell the BJP-led government to not be so “proud”.
“I thought of something that – what the public of the country could not say out of fear was said by God himself, that don’t be so proud; this country made you (BJP) the leaders, put the country and its public ahead of everything,” Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said.
In response to this, BJP’s Shehzad Poonawalla slammed Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for calling the G20 Summit in Delhi as “inka G20”.
“Priyanka Vadra & her party are entitled to be bitter & crib but look at what Priyanka ji says “INKA G20” – Are such programs “inka” “unka” or Bharat Ka? This is the mindset problem of a family that has always believed – “Jo Desh Ka woh inke parivar ka”.. she is only manifesting that!” Shehzad Poonawalla said in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter).
Notably, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Sunday hailed India’s G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant for the ‘Delhi Declaration’ consensus, and said it was a “proud moment for India at the G20”. In addition to this, he also lauded the government for making the G20 Summit a “huge nationwide summit”.
“But it’s also an attempt by the ruling party to instrumentalize the G20 as something that would turn out to be an asset for them politically,” he added.
