Commenting on the success of the G20 Summit under India’s presidency, businessman and husband of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi, Robert Vadra, stated that the Modi government has learned from the Nehru-Gandhi family and the Congress party, who have previously hosted major international events.
He also said that the G20 Leaders’ Summit in New Delhi was a “proud moment” and congratulated the guests who came to the G20 Summit.
“I remember when Indiraji was instrumental in holding such events, and Priyanka’s family and the Gandhi family have always done a lot to bring international support to our country and will continue doing it,” Vadra said.
The G20 Summit was held in New Delhi on September 9-10 under India’s presidency. The successful organisation of the summit has been viewed by many as a testament to India’s growing global influence and leadership.
Commenting further on the summit, Vadra said, “The Modi government has learned from Mrs. Indira Gandhi and the Gandhi family and the Congress, who have always sought international support and have had events like this… Let’s not forget that.”
He also endorsed Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, who called the G20 declaration a “diplomatic triumph.”
“I’m sure many more events like this will happen in the future as well. My family is also always there to support all the delegates and people internationally as proud Indians,” Vadra added.
Commenting on the discussions regarding renaming the country to Bharat, Vadra said the BJP-led government is keen on renaming, and “we should not be trivial in retitle names.”
