The BJP’s Central Election Committee (CEC) will hold a meeting on Wednesday (September 13) at 5 pm, sources told India Today. As per information, the meeting aims to discuss the preparations for the upcoming assembly elections and 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The committee members are expected to review the ongoing poll preparations, gather feedback, and formulate the party’s strategy, including the selection of candidates.

According to an earlier report by news agency PTI, the meeting will be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and attended by other senior leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, party president JP Nadda, and Union Minister Rajnath Singh.

The BJP’s decision to hold the meeting so early emphasises the importance it has attached to the upcoming state elections, the last round of assembly contest before the Lok Sabha elections.

States that are expected to go to the polls in November-December are Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana and Mizoram.
